Fr. Bohdan Hladio was born near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1957. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, where he was a member of the Duquesne University Tamburitzans, and a Master of Theological Studies degree from the Orthodox School of Theology, Trinity College, University of Toronto. He met his wife Tania in Toronto in 1982, they were married in 1984. They have three children and five grandchildren. Fr. Bohdan has ministered to parishes in Hamilton, Ontario, Winnipeg, Manitoba and on Vancouver Island, and served as chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada from 2005 - 2008. In addition to his pastoral responsibilities Fr. Bohdan has served on many diocesan and community committees and boards. Fr. Bohdan’s columns have been published in the Visnyk/Herald (Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada), Hamilton Spectator, and other publications. He is a sought after speaker and retreat leader. His first book, “Northopraxis: Reflections on Orthodox life in North America” was published by Holy Dormition Monastery Press in Rives Junction, Michigan.
