PARISH MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian
Orthodox Church. We have recently celebrated our 90 th anniversary, so you are joining a
dedicated group who care deeply about this church.
Benefits:
- Each member (single adult or in the case of a family, two adults) can vote at our
AGM if paid in full by Dec. 31 st of the year prior
- Each membership (single or family) is paid to our regional (Eastern Eparchy) and
national (Consistory - UOCC), so therefore you also become members of those
organizations
- You are welcome to participate in the leadership of the Church (Parish Council)
Fees for 2026 as communicated in the Church bulletin commencing Sept. 2025:
Individual member fee: has increased from $200 to $220
Family member fee: has increased from $400 to $440
This is a result of:
 UOCC/Consistory (which includes a fee for St. Andrew’s College) have recently
increased their fees by $10 to: $186 per Parish member.
 Eastern Eparchy fee which had increased dramatically last year, is now: $30 per
Parish member.
This translates to a total of our obligated direct costs to the UOCC & Eastern Eparchy
being: $216 per adult member.
In previous years, we have absorbed losses as a result of increases taking place and
not passing them down to our members. This is no longer sustainable. We will use the
$4.00 difference to support our parish operations.

General Membership information
1. You are asked to fill out a simple membership application.
2. Each member application is approved for acceptance by the Parish Council at a
monthly Council meeting.
3. Our Parish Council Treasurer, Lynda Tripp (pnhdakota@bell.net) is your key
contact, but you may ask any of our Parish Council members about this process.
4. You will receive a tax receipt for your membership in the year it was paid,
regardless of whether it is paid directly to the church via cheque, our PAR
program or through our online Canada Helps portal (which issues receipts
immediately)– as per the options outlined on our website.
5. You may arrange to pay monthly, but the full amount must be paid before Dec. 31
if you’d like to vote at the AGM or participate in the Parish Council in the following
year. If you missed the previous year’s membership (not paid in full by Dec. 31)
you will be moved to the Adherent List for the coming year. Once your
membership is paid in full (by Dec. 31 st ) you will be then be added to the
Membership List and be eligible for Council participation in the next year.
6. The calculation of fees owing to our regional (Eastern Eparchy) and national
(Consistory) bodies are paid based on the membership enrollment as of Dec. 31 st
of the previous year. These fees are an mandatory obligation.
7. We do not pro-rate membership, so it is in your best interest to pay within a
calendar year if you would like to vote at the upcoming AGM or participate in the
Parish Council. Or, just wait to join until the beginning of the next calendar year.
8. The Parish Council Treasurer will contact individuals in September to remind
those with outstanding membership payments for that year, to please remit by
Dec. 31 st
For example: If paid in full Jan 2026 – March 2026
a) You are placed on the Parish Membership list
b) Your 2026 payment allows you the ability to vote in the Feb. 2027 AGM
c) If not paid in full, you have the option to do so by the end of the calendar year,
allowing you to remain on our membership list and vote at the AGM (as well as
participate on Parish Council)

To pay for your 2026 church membership, please go to the section "Donate Now/Зробити Пожертву," and make a donation of $220.00—the annual membership fee for every church member; family membership—$440.00. In the "Write a private message to us (optional)" field, please indicate that the donation is for the 2026 membership and include the names of every member you are paying for.
